If you are in need of a vision correction surgery, Lasik may be the procedure for you. If you do qualify for Lasik (not all people who need vision correct surgery will qualify due to numerous reasons), then the best procedure to have is Wave front Lasik. Therefore, we are going to discuss the subject of Wave front Lasik.

Wave front Lasik is simply the latest iteration of Lasik. During the surgery, an eye surgeon uses a laser to create a three dimensional map of the patient's eye. Due to the accuracy of the laser, many abnormalities that would normally not be noticed are identified. As a result, the eye surgeon is able to more accurately diagnose the patient's situation. After a diagnosis is made, the eye surgeon uses the laser to provide individualized vision correction.

The nice thing about this procedure is that it has a very high success rate (usually above the 95% mark). This is due to the fact that the equipment and surgeon focuses on the eye's nuances, versus using a standardized treatment plan.

While every medical procedure has benefits, they also have drawbacks. In the case of Wave front Lasik, the only real disadvantage is that it costs more than the other Lasik procedures. Personally, we believe the slight additional cost isn't enough to discourage people from pursing the better medical option.

With that said, if after the consultation, your surgeon tells you that another vision correction surgery would be better for your situation, please do not argue with them. As the eye professional, they will know what is best for your eye.
